Upon purchasing my MX3230, I reformatted and installed XP Pro naturally.
However, I did a clean format, deleting the "safety partition" that is supposed to store all of the factory settings.
After much searching, I restored my wifi connection drivers, as well as sound, but I still am unable to find my video card drivers.
From what I understand (since I can't determine my display adapter because the driver isn't installed correctly) The video card is a Radeon 9250 series, Unless anybody knows it to be something different, this is all I have to go by.
When I try to install the Catalyst drivers, I get an error saying that I do not have the proper hardware for the installation.
When I try to install Omega drivers, the process Ikernel.exe uses 100% of my CPU, the Drivers won't install, and I have to quit. I then get an error saying :
"Setup failed to run installation: The remote procedure call failed."
I just uninstalled the drivers and rebooted to see what Windows detected the video card as, and it came up as this:
VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP
Does anybody happen to know if 1) I am trying to install the correct thing.
or 2) Anywhere where I can find these drivers?
Thank you for reading -

Omega drivers wont work because you dont have a ATI/Nvidia graphics card. What you have is the S3 Unichrome as correctly identified by Windows.
See specifications for MX3230 here...
http://www.gateway.com/home/products/ret/ret_mx3230.shtml
You have a Via VN800 chipset and S3 Unichrome graphics card combo. So, you will need to download the correct drivers from Via...
Try the drivers flocated here...
