Well I was looking on Gateway.com and bestbuy.com today and I noticed they redesigned the Gateway NV notebooks.
If anyone can get a chance and stop by Bestbuy and look at a new one that would be awesome!
I would like to see how well the build construction is compared to either one.
I would post links and pictures but i am on my cell phone now. When I get on my desktop I will post them.

No Esata or firewire ports? If that is true then that is a deal breaker for us.

A friend of mine has one of the newer NV series notebooks. The build quality is the same to me, they just look slightly different. Matte lid vs. glossy. I'll see what Gateway has to offer in February when I upgrade to a newer machine. I'm taking Lenovo under serious consideration though.

I liked the old design better. I know people think it's antiquated, but I dig the barrel-hinge design.

I still think the brown Sony Vaio FW is one of the most attractive notebooks ever designed. I'd like to see the FW's design combined with the MBP's aluminum construction and build quality, maybe a little thicker for the cooling and a Core i7 and a 5870. :D
