I downloaded for future install. Did you find any improvements? My old driver works fine so I'm not messin' with it now. But if and when I need to re-install, I will try it.

    Thanks for the heads up.

They support windows 7, didn't have the annoying pop of the previous version I had installed, and seem to sound pretty good when you adjust the settings(which you WILL need to do, defaults are horrid). One thing I did notice is the digital SPDIF output is missing, but in the control panel it lists the NVIDIA digital output, so it looks like it is supporting digital through NVIDIA's dig out through HDMI. I wasnt too worried about missing the SPDIF since I dont use it anyway, but I always had issues with the sound working over HDMI, maybe it will solve the issue, wont know till I get an HDMI cable from home and try it. Out of curiosity, what version driver are you using currently?

Device Manager says 4.98.4.60. I have not tried HDMI. The auto switching between ear phones/mic and speaker is tricky to get right. That is why I hate fooling with it. I don't have the popping you mentioned.

This is one of those black art drivers that you just keep installing and re-installing until eventually something good happens.

I'm currently using 4.98.4.60, and trying to update to this driver through the executable, and then using the W7-64 folder both said my current driver was prefrered.

There's this page, but I never know which damned "type" is right: http://station-drivers.com/page/conexant.htm

Also, Driver Detective claims my audio driver is up to date. vOv

Yep, Conexant is a mystery. I'm not sure why so many notebooks use it. Cheap is my guess. Although when you finally get it working, things are OK. Good question on which one to choose. Some version numbers (like the one in the first post) may be brand/model specific. Of course they may work on others.
