Well, I'm figuring on ordering a new processor and waking up my slumbering P-7805u (getting 30 fps at minimum quality in APB is getting to me).
    At the moment, I'm debating between a T9600, a T9800, and the x9100

    Intel® Core?2 Duo T9600 2.80Ghz SLGEM on eBay.ca (item 140418131727 end time 16-Aug-10 08:59:32 EDT)
    Intel® Core?2 Duo T9800 2.93Ghz SLGEP OEM ,clearance! on eBay.ca (item 130401299451 end time 16-Aug-10 08:59:24 EDT)

(I haven't really looked at x9100s, but I'm kinda leaning away from them as I don't plan on OCing)

    Any suggestions?

X9100 is the way to go if your budget is $250 to $300.

APB should be running at a much higher FPS than what you have. I really doubt that game struggles at 1440x900 at low settings. I can play Bad Company 2 at 1920x1200 on high settings at 30 fps.

If your not going to OC, than a T9900 (35watt) would be a better option than a x9100 (44watt). Less power consumption and less heat but same 3.06GHz clock speed.

X9100 and the T9900 will use the same power and give of the same heat at the the same clocks/voltage. The reason the X9100 has a 44w rating is because it can be overclocked.

The game is just terribly optimized, I get decent fps at all other games

I think I'll go for the x9100, thanks guys

Edit: On a side note, one of my wireless antenna leads is busted up and doesnt connect to the wifi card anymore. Is there anywhere that I can buy just a set of antennas?

Double check by providing the link to the seller you're buying from. You don't want to get the wrong edition. E0 > C0.

What CPU did you upgrade from?

APB might prefer Quad Core more than Dual.

Disregard whatever APB "prefers". It's a poorly optimized game that has gotten poor reviews for its poor execution. It's still a work in progress that will take a few more months to actually reach a functional stage.

The X9100 is the best CPU processor upgrade (if you get it for <$300) and today's games only manage to take advantage of dual core systems unlike the quad core counterparts.

Download ThrottleStop and keep it handy for when your new CPU arrives. You should have no problem bumping up the multiplier to 13.5 and running your new X9100 at 3.6 GHz. Give it as much voltage as it needs to be Prime stable and you should be fine for gaming. The T9600 and T9800 with their locked multipliers are no longer in the same league as the X9100. You made a wise choice.

Well my x9100 is in and everything seems to be running fine. It idles around 29 C but when I do anything CPU intensive, one of the cores jumps up to 70 C. Is this normal?

What is the other core temperature reading? if its up to 5° difference from the other core, it should be fine

I have one core running at 75 while the other says its running at 60 (this was a problem with my previous gpu, the sensors were off by a good 10 degrees)

Edit: I think I'm going to check to see if my paste applied itself properly
