I just found a new list of the mobile CPU that were released as of 12/28. Included on the list were the Q9000, T9800, P9600, T9550 and P8700. Alot of which are at the same price point as their predecessors. Should make for alot more interesting of an upgrade option for my P-7811 FX. I was looking at the P9500/P9600 ($348) before, but now that T9600/T9800 ($530) looks mighty tempting (so much for battery life).

    Best price for punch looks like the T9550 @ 2.66Ghz and $316 and P8700 @ 2.53 and $241.

The Q9000 is only ~$380, pretty awesome!

Q9000 is the 3mb cache (P8xxx) in Quad config (3mb per chip, 6mb total) versus the Q9100 and QX9300 which are 6mb per chip = 12mb total cache. Slower @ 2.0ghz too.

    I'm not exactly doing backflips...

Good, uber cheap, low end consumer Quad alternative for mobile systems, though.
