Hi. I'm pretty much a n00b when it comes to hardware. My husband has a Gateway laptop that really lags when playing games - eg. Age of Empires III.
I would like to surprise him with some upgrades for Christmas for better gameplay. I have no idea what to upgrade first and I'd love some advice.

    Thanks in advance :)

We're gonna need to know what model it is. With most laptops, the only things you can easily upgrade is the memory(i.e. RAM). The hard drive is upgradeable...but speed increases and such would be minimal for most applications. Processors can sometimes be done...but the cost/benefit is not always good.

That said...if you can tell us what model laptop it is, we can probably give you more possibilities.
