I just purchased my first Laptop today and it was the 7805, while I have not been able to open it yet(played a show and worked away from home all day) i was wondering if i could get some help as simple as links to getting the best performance out of this lovely piece of equipment. I will be using it for gaming and recording beats, any ideas on drivers?

Thanks Semigamer! Appreciate your help.
Another quick question, when i go to the link for the Graphics drivers it takes me to a forum with many options. Anyway I can slim the options down to one for gaming?
Thanks again though! I'm anxious to get home(at school) and start that baby up! :] -

Of course! Sorry, I wasn't thinking when I posted the link
Was 2 in the morning haha.

I'm using the "Forceware 181.20". I find it to be best for MY system.
Others with this notebook are likeing the 185's and the 182's. So its basically whichever your system likes the most, not really a "1 driver fits all" type of deal, ya know?

Oh totally! thanks a bunch! ill check those out very soon!

180.70 xfastest forceware is the one that worked the best for me...
but like semigamer said "not really a 1 driver fits all"
try a few and see what your happy with.

Starting to see them more and more on these forums. Think Imma stick with whats working well for me right now, though if these ever act up I think I'm going to try xfastest

Mind sending me a link to the download page for the xfastest driver? I think i will give that a try first after i do the system restore right now thanks!~
O and i see Forceware 185.20 on the drivers page..is that the latest dox driver? Did you try that one yet Semi? -

I'm not even sure what the link to xfastest are since I've never used them

By release date from nVidia, 182.05's are newer, but Dox has the list in number order I believe.
Anyway, the 185.20's didn't work well for me, caused some artifacting and such so I got away from those. Though some others are liking them and report them working fine on their systems. -

hmmmmmmmm....i think i will just go with either the 181.20 or 181.22 since they SOUND more reliable...and because you use it
      -

Haha yeah the 181.20 and 181.22.1 have worked the best for me. Hope they do the same for you

Ive been using the DOX 185.20 with my p7801 and have never had any artifacting or any problems at all.

Yeah, like I said, they aren't "1 driver fits all".
Just like shirt sizes, Certain drivers fit certain systems. -

download the vista64bit driver right?

Yes, if you have vista 64 bit.. download the vista 64 bit driver

Yes DOx 185.20 is not too good, shoot...185.20 Stock or lv2go is no good at all. I would reccomend using Dox 182.05. Its the most stable driver for me and runs all games beautifully.
