Hi I am using a Fx-7811. I upgraded to 2 320gb 7200 rpm Seagate newest version in Raid0. I use my laptop on my chest a lot. I upgraded to 195.62 drivers
on Windows 7 64bit. Then things got hot! Not the graphics card it stayed around 50c. It was the hard drives and further back near the battery area. I had 186.81 on before and I just put that back on. It is all good and not hot now. I did not think it was the 195.62 drivers at 1st because I just fixed a sound card problem with Powermizer Switch.

"I use my laptop on my chest a lot." :err:

Wow, you must have a goose neck.

Do you have complete Hw monitor temps from before your upgraded drivers?
Post them here and show the new temps as well.

I have ran both sets of drivers and have not noticed any increase nor decrease in gpu temps at all just as a heads up. I upgraded my drivers to the most recent 2 nights ago and my temps haven't changed at all.

It is definitely hotter with 195.62 idling at 50C, compared to DOX 185.85 and NVIDIA 186.82 idling at 40-44C.

I updated to 195.62 too, from DOX's 185.85 and it idles in the 50s. While gaming tho, it goes up to 105C :( A lot hotter than with DOX's drivers

Which laptop are you using? 105 is not safe for most computer components so prop your laptop up, clean it out with compressed air and or buy a cooler...

7805u, I did clean it out, fan is working fine. I have 4 80mm fans running under the lappy and it holds it at 92C.

Didnt have this prob with Dox 185.85, maybe i should go back. It used to run < 90 without the extra cooling. What drivers r u guys using?

Ok, I decided to go back to Gateways Nvidia drivers, and still had the heating issue. I noticed that that my GPU fan was running at the same speed, even when I start up a game, the temps go up, but fans don't, just sits there chilling at a low speed.

I turned off the comp, and blew in the vent, turned the pc back on, and it works now... While gaming it keeps the temps below 80C.
Weird, when I start a game now, the fan speed goes up as it should.
