I installed Age of Conan and then went to the graphics setting to tweak and realized that there was a Direct X 9 and Direct X 10 Button and I could not select the D10. So I went to laptopvideo2go and download the latest drivers and still get the same deal. I have searched on the web for these types of issues and haven't had any luck. I remember hearing it somewhere but I don't know where. If anyone has a resolve for this issue that would be awesome.

Make sure your driver updated when you ran it

In the recent patch they disabled DX10 as it wasn't supposed to be available until later.

Sounds like the game is the issue, not the drivers/OS/GPU.

My driver? At first I installed the driver without uninstalling the other one. Then I benchmarked 100 points lower on 3dmark06, so I tried uninstalling the driver first and then installing it. After I uninstalled the driver and rebooted it said "found 8800gts" and it installed a driver without me doing anything. Well before I rebooted I just installed 169.09 over it. I still mark 100 pts lower. And to SERO- you say "it" wasnt supposed to be available till later I am assuming you are talking about CONAN?

First off I'm pretty sure the stock driver that came on my p-6831fx didn't have DX 10 enabled or as an option (for AOC i would recommend updating to175.63 or newer). And yeah when AOC was released there was an option to select DX 10 but it didn't actually do anyhting, DX10 is disabled in the game and Funcom says once the performance is good they will re-enable or release it in a patch (read somewhere in 3 months or so).

I had heard that the 6831 didn't have dx 10 enabled, that's why I downloaded the laptopvideo2go stuff. Once I put the new driver on I still couldn't select DX 10 so it is good to know that AOC doesn't support it or I would have thought the driver was jacked.
