I've sent my MX6428(Turion ML 37 - 2.0 GHz/1MB) in 3 times for this issue. When I attempt to get on the internet I can't, when I right click on my Wireless Network Connection, it then brings me to the Wireless Network Screen, my wireless card isn't listed, I refresh the network list, then I get the message No Wireless network found in range. My desktop & other notebook are still working without a problem. Gateway replaced the Network Card, it works for 10 - 14 days then this occurs again. Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you perhaps accidentally turned the wireless card off?

I have pressed fn/f2, and the wireless status light is on. I have done all the troubleshooting. My wireless card isn't active- it does not appear on the list of wireless devices. When I select refresh, No wireless card appear on the list of wireless devices.

I've had this problem before...what I did was go into the Device Manager (Start -> Run -> type 'devmgmt.msc'), open up 'Network adapters,' right click on 'Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter,' and select 'Uninstall.' That will uninstall the wireless card...now, to reinstall it, look at the top of the Device Manager, click 'Action,' and click 'Scan for hardware changes.' It should detect and reinstall it for you. If you're connected to a network that has WEP or WPA enabled, you will have to re-enter the key for them.

    Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply, I'm still having problems with this issue. I tried this but it did not resolve the issue, sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't.

I spoke to Gateway this week, they want to replace my notebook with a refurbished one. I'm afraid that I will inherit other problems. Has anyone else had this response from Gateway?

I would try uninstalling any wireless connection/monitoring software other than XP's built-in software. They often conflict with one another. When installing wireless cards, I try (if at all possible) to install ONLY the wireless card driver and not the software that comes with it so that only Windows monitors the wireless card
