Hey everybody. I just wanted to drop in and and say hello to all of my Gateway and eMachines buddies.

For nostalga sake, I am posting this message from my eMachines M6811 that got its big screen debut right here in Notebook Review where you all saw her naked while I was performing major surgery in order to resolve the infamous eMachines/Gateway overheating problem.

Well I am happy to say that both my eMachines m6811 and my Gateway 7422gX are running strong! and I mean strong. I have not had the overheating/shutdown problem on either of them for years and they are not yet ready for the Geriatric ward! :D . I will say that they do have their AARP cards by default.

The e-machines is running Ubuntu Lucid and the GW is still zipping along with XP-64. I am tempted to put W7 on it as my D810 is running just great with W7.

Yes, I do have some new blood one of which is a Elite 8530w which is a Beast! but I will post in the general forum for the Old Folks Home for Lappy's.

    Chow
