So my laptop fx6860 had a problem with over heating and turning itself off. So I took it apart and found the fans was not connected.( this was from taking it apart when I spilled water all over it ). I found that the other fan connector was screwed so I tried to wire it into the other fan and that's where things went wrong. Neither fan works now even after tying it back to normal. I could live with that but for some reason my screen won't turn on at all. When I start the computer up there's a long beep followed by 2 short beeps. I don't understand why tieing into a fan would affect my monitor. I csn still here it start fine. Please help!!

Maybe you burned up the motherboard, GPU, and/or CPU. I'd buy an new motherboard, CPU and set of fans. If its worth it.

Some systems will see the fans, if they are not there they will not alow boot. If the video fan isn't seen it is considered a video failure and that usually is 1 long 2 short. Now it could be the video is gone too from overheating and now it won't even bother to power the fan, again this would result in the same beep codes.

Well it was working good and the screen problem didn't happen till I tried tying it all together. Anyone know of a place I can get the fan on the left to try and see if replacing that and see if it helps

What other models use the same fan when I search I can't seem to find anything for the 6860fx

I'd rather spend 125.00 flat and have it back working than start spending hand over fist not knowing if the fix is the original issue or the cure.

At a minimum the motherboard probably has fried power circuitry. Depending on what specifically was damaged from the liquid and the wiring, other portions of the board are probably dead too.
If you want to continue using this notebook I would recommend buying a new motherboard outright. If you go with a new notebook entirely, make sure you purchase the company's accidental damage warranty. -

I might have to try that cuz be nice to have it working again. The computer worked for a month after I spilled water and didn't mess up till I hard wired the fans together
