the Cryo LX is pretty good with the gateway FX chassis; the three fans cover approx. 90% of the CPU bankpanel and fan vent if positioned correctly.

    significantly lowered my temps....

I got a coolermaster notepal from newegg for $19 shipped. I havent tested how much difference its made but i know its an upgrade from my pant leg blocking the cpu vents. Now my legs dont get sweaty and my laptop doesnt overheat.

My gateway hangs over the notepal about 1" on left/right sides.

what are the HDD temps, that pretty much m main worry because my hdd temps go at ~55C sometimes now at sumer time.

basically our cpu and gpu never had overheating problems witch is a good think.

    Why not make your own?

Take a cutting board cut a few holes in it and mount some USB powered fans to it that would perfectly line up with your intakes?

Here is a very basic one i made for desk use (though you can use it in your lap it was slightly uncomfortable

It will work better than any mass produced one because you can line the fans up exactly where you want them

my WD scorpio usually hovers around 35C to 37C. Very rarely does it hit 40C.

cant comment on my primary boot drive (G.skill falcon SSD) as everest doesnt seem to detect a temp sensor for it.

Yeah thats the only reason I want a cooler also. My GPU and CPU are fine but the HDD gets very hot.

Nice idea but i want to have my laptop on my legs and that is another reason to spend more money. i only hate HDD temps nothing else. as long as that stays low preferably under 45C its Ok bu me. Dont what to lose mu data.

I'm looking to buy some thermal paste and some copper to mod the gpu Vram and chipset. still thinking about it and how i will measure the gap between to have a proper thickens of the copper sheet.

It you have any ides we can open a new thread and talk about it because i hate thermal pads they are never good enough.

ICD7 is thick enough to cover the gap between heatsink and gpu/northbridge chipset.

alternatively, the gap between heatsink and NB chipset is approx. 1mm if you want to do the copper shim mod. Dont know about GPU-heatsink gap.

as i know GPU has no gap it is like CPU thats the good think.
I was thinking to do copper mod to gpu ram too still haven't opened the llaptop to see Vram gaps but that would be worth to do and lots of heat well be gone from GPU and of course bigger over clock.

still waiting a friend of mine to come from US and bring me some thermal paste, dont know it i will buy ICD7 or CL Liquid Pro. if you look at these review for thermal paste its better to go with CL Liquid Pro just because there are no heatsink on our CPU and GPU since they have somehow the same surface but i think the GPU heatsink is from aluminum so i must go with CL liquid Ultra. still have some thine to think but i will do somethink lol.
