    Hello to all

i have a MX6429 and i just can't find any W7 drivers on internet. Does anybody have a idea where can i find the drivers to W7 for this notebook?

I have tried to get drivers from W Vista (on gateway website), but it just doesn't work. that shows "failed" on installation.

i don't want to downgrade to XP....

does anyone have an idea? Thanks :)

Exactly what drivers are you looking for? Video driver? Hardware driver?
If Video driver go to the video card manufacturer website. Same for your hardware.

I need all of them. I cannot find any compatible driver on Gateway website. All drivers i put on it, the W7 says "failed". Does that mean the version of the drivers i'm trying to put on, are not W7 drivers?

Hmm...couldn't find your model on Gateway driver page but found MX6430. And you are correct, they don't list any Win 7 drivers for that model either. Is this a old model?

When you install win 7, it installs generic drivers to get you up and running. Did that work?

I just looked up the specs on your model. Your model does not have the specs for Win 7. In particular, Win 7 requires 1 GB of ram and your specs say 512MB. There may be other win 7 limiting specs on your model. You can go here to see for yourself:

Click the start on your windows 7, and type in the search "drivers" and click on the " Change device installation settings " Pick the windows updates and have it look for you drivers. I spent maybe 6 hours looking for some the other day and couldn't but windows update found it and install. Didn't have anymore problems. Good luck

Like I said in my post above his computer doesn't have the specs for Win 7. He will never get the drivers to install.

Yes, my notebook is an old model. from 2006 i guess, but was built to run with Vista too. If runs with Vista, runs also with W7, right?

Well, i know i'm gonna have a hard work to do. I got 1Gb Extra of ram, so, i have 1.5Gb Ram. That works fine. If you see the W7 running on my pc we'll see that's gonna be just fine.

i think all my chances have gone. I Guess i'm gonna have to downgrade to W-XP.

    I Thank you all.

celovix did you look at the link I posted? It has the win 7 requirements. More ram is good but you need other stuff as mentioned at that link.
