    Just wondering which Nvidia drivers are best for Blu-ray playback with PowerDVD 8.0??

    since none of the gateway fx came with br drive, its better to ask in a more appropriate forum (graphics?). you could post here again if you get a good answer.

    personally i don't think there should be a big difference, just try one of the latest and see if it works for you.

    I just used this driver Vista 64
    Worked Perfect..!!

    I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit
    Power DVD 8.0
    Nvidia Notebook drivers 178.28 says BETA but it was WHQL
    which made it much better

    My test Blu-Ray movie was "Predator"

    Amazing it was like i was watching a whole new movie
    i must i have this movie over 20 times in the past
    "Blu-Ray" gave it new life.. :)

    Just want to confirm this to be 100% sure. Does the 7811/7805 models use an IDE/PATA interface (Sony BC-5500a) or SATA interface (Sony BC-5600s)? You can order either drive off Newegg and replacement does not seem overly difficult either.

    Yup, just confirmed. Though you have to have the 5500S as the the 5600S uses a slot loaded format which won't work right for the 7811/7805. 5500S units are rare atm as well, though there are some on ebay for a hefty $355 each...
