    Anyone knows if OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) will work with Gateway P-6831FX. Will the ram run 800Mhz or just down clock to 667mhz??

I think theres a version of Memset people are using to at least tighten up there timings since we cant go 800 cas 5, go 667 with Cas 4 memory.

Unfortunately, the Santa Rosa chipset is physically unable to run the RAM faster. As mentioned, Memset can tweak the timings, but the speed it locked.

if the RAM can run CL4 at 667 Mhz that not bad at all but CL5 at 667 Mhz is not worth of money

If gateway updates the bios for editing Ram timings it can be worth money cause you can force ram timings at CL4
