    Hey all,

Whenever I do a driver search on the Gateway website for my p-171 XL FX, it always lists the same Nvidia driver that came out in January. Are they ever going to update this???

I know many use hacked drivers from laptopvideo2go and such, but I've heard that there can be issues with things like going into low power states, reacting appropriately to the lid closing, etc. I'd like to avoid any niggles which is why I'm holding out for officials.

    Thanks!

You said "niggles". And that is a good question, one nobody knows the answer to, unfortunately. It would be nice, tho.

Unfortunatly for us Nvidia is about **** poor when it coes to releaseing drivers for mobile cards. They pretty much give us what it comes with stock and we will never hear another peek out of them unless something goes horribally wrong at some point in the future.

You best bet is to try the diffrent drivers from laptops2go until you find the one that works the best for you. I liked one of the older ones 175.63 i believe because while it might not have been as powerful as the others it was stable and made the card behave like it was supposed to (in my mind)

So i would play around with the drivers we have available before waiting for Nvidia/gateway to come up with somehting... cause its probably never going to happen :(

and just so you know you shall forever be marked as the person that said "niggles" :p
