Here are the specs for the upcoming P-7811 notebok from Gateway. It looks like our P-6831/P-6860 are already outmoded. I bought my 6831 back in February and even added in a new Core2 T9300 this month! I feel like an idiot. I could have saved the upgrade money and bought the 7811 while selling my aging 6831.

This has already been brought up in a number of threads. Don't feel bad. The 6831 with a T9300 is going to perform quite similarly to the 7811.
-
Yeah, plus the ddr3 starting modules won't outperform your ddr2. So basically the samething with a slightly faster video card.
-
The main advantage of the 7811 as I see it is the higher screen resolution. Changing the LCD in my 6831 would be too much of a job. At least the 8800M GTS will run faster at the lower native resolution of the 6831.

there should be "no more 7811 threads" thread
-
No - that should be a STICKY!
T -
I vote for no more "What Kinda Bag Should I Get?" threads. Sheesh.
-
Yes - those are rather ridiculous - visit Targus.com
Of course, the above sentence will start an onslaught of anti-Targus comments... Not that I really care for Targus, just giving an example.

However, I'm slightly biased because I own a P-6831FX (upgraded to a T8300 processor). The 7811 is a great buy, but something will eclipse it in another six months or less. So, enjoy what you have now. -

ok we should make a sticky of what threads will cause you ban for life:
1. new 7811 threads
2. 17" bags will it fit threads
3. max fps of unreleased games
4. ........
5. ........
please feel free to add as you like...
