Hello everybody
From the official Intel website, under the notebook processor page, they list the Core 2 Quad processors.
Basically they are the same CPUs of the desktop version, no difference and same socket (LGA775).....the TDP is 95W!! How long a latptop battery would last with such energy draw??
So if I understand correctly, there is no difference in the Core 2 Quad for desktops and notebooks...is that right??
The only Quad Core processor available for Socket P notebooks is the QX9300(45W TDP), from the Intel website....is that right too??

You may have looked at the wrong page. Then there's the QX9300

Ok I think Intel has some misplaced links on their web site.
When you click on Processors -> Notebooks -> Core 2 Quad Mobile then on the specification tab they show you the regular Core 2 Quad desktop CPU.
Furthermore the T9900, which I just bought, is nowhere to be found on the Intel site,
Sorry!!!
However Visionman makes big laptops with regular Core 2 Quad desktop processors...here for example

I wonder how long it last on batteries -
Who would ever need a 5000$ laptop...
-
5k ouch....SLI and quad..that thing must be powered on in a freezer...
-
And i dont think he had SLI! -
Wow! 5k for a laptop that doesnt have WUXGA? Preposterous

"In late 2005 the Dutch company Ego Lifestyle B.V. released the Tulip E-Go Diamond laptop, which was previously the worlds most expensive laptop and this mobile computer had over 80 total carats of diamonds and a retail price of 283,000."

The worst thing about that laptop is it doesn't use the "S" type Quads which have a better 65W TDP.
Ok let me see if I understand correctly about the Intel Core 2 Quad processors...
