    Hey everyone!

For those of you who are comfortable doing so (if you bork your machine while doing this it is your problem) please pop the access panels off the bottom of your notebooks and share with teh group whether you have a socketed CPU and removable video card.

The eMachines 680x series had upgradable CPUs and the 8510GZ has upgradable CPUs and Video Cards (MXM/Axiom slot).

I would like to know what other Gateway notebooks offer this.

the gateway 7000 series and some other models all use basically the same case as Emachines 68XX (just changed from emachines name to Gateway). The 2 panel on the bottom provide 1 user accessible Ram slot :( bah, and the other is my broadcom wireless card, if i recall. Some OTHER gateways like p-m models do have access to the video card, and the 6000 series p-ms open up rather nicely to view 2 ram slots, the heat spreader and fans, and some views of goodies from underneath :)
