Hello! I'm new here, I've been lurking for the past month looking for a good deal on a nice gaming laptop. I believe I've found what I'm looking for with Gateway. At first I noticed the p6860 and would have bought that if it was still for sale for $1100. Then I went to their website and the P-173x seemed exactly what I wanted(especially since its $1350 right now.)

It really bugs me that it doesn't have Draft-N wireless though. So I looked to the P-173xl, which sits at $1750, which is out of my price range!

I was actually worried they might not have them anymore when I order on the 10th. Seeing that they're preparing for their next lineup.(anyone know how much longer they should be selling?)

But anyways, I have possibly two options. I was thinking I could call in and ask for a P-173x with an upgrad to wireless N. Possible? Also I was thinking I could explain my situation and as for the XL at a lowered price. The most I'm willing to spend is $1550. Do you guys think there's any possibility of talking the sales rep down to this price on the 10th? Thanks in advanced!

I'd rather have it built in though. I think I might have a "chat" on their website with a rep. Are these the same helpful people that would answer the calls?

Might want to get on that like oh i dunno in the next hour or two. Today is the last day sales reps have jobs. I was told this morning that today was the last day they'll be taking direct orders.

DAMN! I can't order until the 10th! I guess I'll just be getting the HDX on Newegg... That'll probably be gone by the 10th too... Oh the woes of shopping for a laptop. Maybe I'll just hold out for that new gateway at BB. Thanks for the help!
