    P-6831 FX = P-173xl FX?

    Is the 6831 essentially the same machine as the 173 at least from a motherboard and bios standpoint? I'm wondering if I can use a 6831 bios (94.31) in my 173 which is currently at 94.29.

    Why do you want to change your bios? Something broke?

    I would ask Gateway but I would fall over if they knew the answer :rolleyes:

    Thanks for the response. I'd read through that thread, but it seems that the 17x models are somewhat rare compared to the 68/7800s so its hard to know for sure what info is applicable.
