I try to decrease the Brightness & Contrast to 0 using the NVIDIA Control Panel, Display, Adjust desktop color settings, but LCD is still to bright, so I used the FN key + Down Arrow key, and it works. However, every time I restart the computer or close the lid, I have to use the FN key + Down Arrow key again to decrease the brightness. Is there a way to permanently save the setting for FN & down key?

    Solution:
I just figure this out. Go Control Panel, Power Options, Adjust Display brightness. Now, when I restart or close the lid, the brightness will not change.

    Thanks

I have tried FN + F8, but it is too bright for me. I use the FN + Down Arrow. I need a way to permanently saved the LCD brightness setting.

check the autodim settings in your BIOS, although that probably isn't the problem
