1) I checked out my HDD slots, and found my second HDD SATA plug covered with some aluminum foil... Is that normal (i.e. "seal not broken") or is it a mess up on their part on my P-6831FX? (I'll post a pic later)
2) How easy is it to pull all the stickers off of the right hand side of the palmrest? Do they leave any marks / sticky stuffs?
-
I had the silver sticker also. I assumed it was there to keep dust and other crap out of the sata connector.
-
As far as the stickers, NP. I could not wait to get those off!
-
If so I would leave them on for the time being
I will definitely take them off...
How reflective/shiny is the orange strip, is it somewhat subdued?
Also Ive heard the screen has a privacy filter on it so you cant see it from the sides... any comment? -
-
Well not as much a privacy filter as more or less low viewing angle, ex not very enjoyable unless you face it head on.
Interesting I thought the orange would be a shiny metallic instead of just flat/matte
How are the media control buttons? -
They work fine, but they aren't really individual buttons. It's hard to explain; you basically flex the casing to depress the button underneath it.
-
I find the Fn counterparts easier to use, especially volume.
-
One of the best features of this laptop, aesthetically speaking, is the ability to turn off the 700 LED blinking lights and the lights under the media button quickly by hitting Fn+F1.

The orange part, as it stands, adds more to elegance than it does flashiness IMO.

Stickers? I don’t need no stinking stickers.
Once you open the box, you will be charged 15% restocking during your 15 day return period. Stickers or not.
If defective, you’re able to exchange for same. I have gotten refunds, in both cases, but it’s a major hassle with BB management. BB is not a good place to try before you buy when shopping laptops.
