I just got the 6831 and have made a clean install of Vista. I reinstalled all drivers as well.

I am having trouble getting a strong connection with my wireless router. I am currently getting 1mbps. I have a Linksys Model BEFW11S4 router that I am using to connect. There is 1 other computer connecting to the main computer with the router.

Can someone help me improve this?

You should probably think about getting a new router since you are still using the obsolete 11Mbps Wireless B. Get a wireless N router for that brand new Gateway and you won't be sorry. Wireless N gets up to 300Mbps and better range than G or B.

Alright I'll see what I can find. But if it can get up to 11mbps then why do I only come up with 1 mbps? The other computer comes up with 11mbps and the router computer comes up with 100mbps.

As Jstn7477 and few others said on other thread, your WIRELESS part of your ROUTER is FUBAR. Either use internet using the cable through ethernet or get a new N router or stick with a G router for $40. Or access your router and try to configure it. Its one or the other.
