I just bought a P-6831FX from the best buy store off ebay. After playing World of Warcraft for a few hours I get a blue screen saying NMI: Parity check / Memory parity error. I ran 3dmark06 in a loop overnight and that also produced the same blue screen error. Is this laptop defective? Should I send it back asap?

first of all i assuming you bought this from the bestbuy outlet ebay store where everything is used or refurbished
thats why you don't buy used laptop from an outlet store on ebay
they act fine in the beginning and then when you actually use them they have bsods
yes return it you dont know what other problems you will get

Well I was hoping it was something simple like the ram but it's not. I just passed memtest86+ for 10 hours without a single error. I've only seen the blue screen happen during games so I'm thinking it's the drivers or the nvidia gpu.

Try to uninstall the current drivers, and get the 175.63 or 175.80

I'm using the 169.09 drivers from laptopvideo2go. I'll try different ones.

ok, cool...then just revert them back to stock by doing a video card upgrade and just choose where it shows the 167.46 driver (stock) then reboot and see what it does then..

The 175.80 drivers seemed to have fixed it. 3dmark06 has been going for 12 hours now without a blue screen. Time to try playing WoW again.

haha I know right. Really nice laptop though I think there must have just been some driver issues cause there was no OS when I got it so I had to start from scratch. Hopefully all is well now. Still has a 1yr warranty if something happens later on.
