    I just installed my T9300 with AS5.

These are my temps after running Prime95 for 10 minutes. Seem kinda high? I didn't bench my system with the old CPU, but I thought the T9300 would run cooler than what I'm seeing.

It seems kinda hot for a 45nm cpu (they are 45 right?). Maybe you put too much AS5?

You may have to reseat your CPU better. it took me a few times to get it right . i pushed down in the center of the heatsink to make sure it was getting the right contact and followed the screws being numbered 1,2,3,4 in that order though the number 5 one i did first cause when i did it last it seemed to always run hotter dont know why but you may have to try a couple times either way.

Yes, it's 45nm. I took off the heatsink and noticed that about 1/3 of the paste was untouched, so I actually put more AS5 in that area so it makes contact. Now I get:

At least it makes more sense that the 2 cores are the same now, but still high? :(

    What temps are ppl seeing?

I heard the t9300 is supposed to run cooler than the stock cpu temps. I have the t5650? (the 1.66 one) and my temps sit around mid 40s idle.

please visit the NBR Cooling Central. :)

also, try to make sure that your heatsink/pipes is secured down.... looseness will cause major heat issues.

I have the same exact setup and my temps hover about 40 C, usually below 40 when not playing games

Those temps are way too high
Are u sure you applied arctic silver correctly??

Those are my temps after running 10 minutes of prime 95, not idle temps. I hover around low 40's for idle as you can see from the Min value.

I play crysis for hours and they are not that high, I am using HW monitor.
Those might be normal for anyone trying to overclock........
Maybe you should clean out the old stuff from heatsink and cpu and add the right amount of thermal grease
Too much might mess up temps too

After running Wprime for 11 minutes, my core temps are at 50 for the first core and 54 for the second. I'll update when I finish running wprime (stability mode)

heheh, the room temp was like 20C degrees, and the HDD goes up to 45 if when playing games and stuff. i took the screen shot 5 minutes after i boot up the system so it might not be that accurate

    Hello people!
I bought a T9500 and finally I was able to put it in today :) (I had to get a good thermal paste)
My idle CPU temperature is around ~50 °C...is that good? I used Noctua NT-H1 for thermal paste. (According to the tests, it is better than AS5)

ps: Vista installed drivers for the CPU which are dated for 2006.06.21...did it install the same for you guys too?

I runned Prime95 for a few mins (max 5 min) and the CPU temperature went up to 80 °C  This doesn't look good for a Penryn :( Oh and also, the notebook fan is allways running at iddle speed  Maybe something wrong with the CPU driver? Or I applied too much thermal paste?

Windows Vista+the BIOS only writes "Genuine Intel(R) CPU" instead of Intel Core 2 Duo T9500...(Vista Driver is dated 2006.06.21.) CPU is "ES" but I don't think that that could cause a problem like this. :(

50C at idle seems a bit high, but i don't think it's problematic. you can try reapply thermal paste if you put too much on the first time. and maybe try running prime95 for maybe 10 minutes and see if the temp gets higher, once it goes up to 90 you should stop.
the fan's speed will adjust when the the cpu reaches certain temperature, for me, once it's higher than 40, the fan will start to run on low, and 60 on medium, you can tell by the noice. so it's certainly normal for your fan to be running at idle since your cpu idles at 50C
