    Hi everyone,

So I was playing Dawn of War II yesterday for the first time and after maybe 25min of playing, the laptop shut off as if it wasn't plugged to the wall and I had taken off the battery.

It's never done that before, during gaming or otherwise, so I thought I would check temperatures to see if something was wrong on that side. To my surprise, my CPU was at 55 and my GPU is at 70 when idling.

During play, CPU rises to 75. I managed to undervolt it and retain stability to keep it at 67 when gaming.

The GPU, however, has got me scared. During play, it rises to 100 (!) and is most likely what causes the instant shutdown. Even with all game settings at minimum, I'm still getting the same heat generation.

Are these temperatures normal? What do you guys suggest I do about this? Thanks in advance!

That's not normal at all. :(
The highest my CPU goes is 50C and the GPU after an hour of gaming is 85C.
    What is your ambient temp?

unless you are in africa or a really hot place it should never reach those temps!! take it back if you still have a warranty and have them replace it.

The highest the Gpu supports is 100C it shuts off at that so it wont damage anything

Try turning it down a little and lifting up the back of the laptop for the mean time.

Also what drivers do you have installed?

I don't have the exact number right now since I'm at work but I got them from laptopvideo2go.

EDIT: Problem fixed! There wasn't enough room under the laptop for air to flow freely. I elevated the rear end and now it's smooth at 50 on idle! :D
