(My apologies if this isn't the appropriate channel for this)

I had the pleasure of someone sitting on my P-6831FX and breaking my screen. I'm wondering if there is anyone who has upgraded their screen for this model or a similar model who would like to sell their original display.

    Thanks
    Eric

It would be easier to upgrade to a 1680 x 1050 or a 1920 x 1200. There only like 45 to 60 dollars more than the stock one. eBay has a bunch of them. I had a gateway with the 1440 x 900 and after using a 1680 x 1050 I'd never go back..

I second that recommendation. The stock display on my P6860-FX was poor in quality. I replaced it with the 1680x1050 display that was in my old Sager laptop and that one, even though a little more dim, was much better.

Search eBay for LG PHILIPS LP171WU3 (TL) (A3).

The best screen you can get for the FX series as I believe LED backlit screens will not work.
