I bought a Gateway P-6860 a few days ago, and was wondering how to work the bluetooth on it. It says it comes with bluetooth, but when i try to use the bluetooth file transfer wizard it says make sure my bluetooth addapter is plugged in or something lke that. How do you use bluetooth? :D

Oh, and how can i lock the touchpad?

    Thanks for any help.

    Some basic questions first...

Is there a bluetooth icon in the toolbar close to your clock/wifi/battery monitor, etc?

Do you show any bluetooth devices when you double-click the bluetooth icon? If so, under which catagories? What are the devices?

6860 does come with Bluetooth... yours might not be turned on. press the fn+F4(sorry not on laptop ATM, can't remeber which F# key it is) to make sure it's turned on.

edit* its Fn+F6, just got home and check the lappy

so check to see if you can toggle your bluetooth on and off

There is an icon next to my battery icon. But says nothing under devices. But under hardware there is 2 things. One of them says Bluetooth 2.0 So that means i have bluetooth right?

That's why I had him check for a bluetooth icon. If it wasn't there, the switch was off...

Now you just have to create connections between the computer and your bluetooth devices using the bluetooth wizard.
