This is a spin-off from the GPU over-heating thread.

I fixed the heating problem. Everything was fine except for the USB ports on the Left side, but I would just check that later. Even with the GPU at 65c, the laptop shutoff. But this time, it wouldn't turn on. Even with battery.

Disassembling it again, I see both the power and the USB ports are on the same 'small board'. Apart, I plug the battery in and the media bar. First, the media bar lit up, but no fans spinning. Then I tried it again, but no lights, just fans...but the fans stopped. Then with the harddrive in, I get a what I think is a full boot (maybe except for some 'no keyboard' or display errors). In that case, I plug in the LCD, but now it won't turn on at all.

I still plan on messing around with it some more, but in the meantime, any thoughts or suggestions? It has only shown to work with the battery.

Don't mean to 'bump' my own thread, but my plan is to just send the thing to Gateway if I look to be at a dead-end. I'll be sending it out Monday if I don't hear anything by then.
