Pretty good deal. I'm always a little wary buying used, but with the Microsoft cashback a 9% right now $637 is pretty good for a great laptop.

If you are wary to buy new, it looks like there is a refurb option for $770 ($850 before cashback) on ebay. Refurb's aren't necessarily new, but at least they have some manufacturer warranty.

Its a decent price. The 6860 is a bit older tech now, but still a very very good laptop (especially for 700 dollars) You can still buy much worse laptops for alot more money.

Since when is the 6860 older tech, the G92 core in the 8800m GTS is still being used today. all you have to do it get yourself a t-9300 (about $190 on ebay) and that puppy will keep up with the newest thing out there. overclock to GPU core to 600 and memory to 950 and your off to the races.

i got my 6831 3 months ago for $650, the only upgrade i did was another 500gb drive and a t8300 cpu. i couldnt be another happier for $650. and just think i was going to spend about $1500 on a new laptop until i found this one, my "baby" HP 2510p, 6831 and I coudnt be much happier.

The 68xx series have been older tech for a full generation now. When Capella is released in a few months then they will be 2 generations old.

Just because its old doesnt mean its not still good ;)
I'd put my 6860 against most anything still out and still be happy with it...but with all i've upgraded i have an advantage :p

The Capella is nonething but a new cpu, with its integrated chipset. most likely for the small laptop crowd at first then into mainstream laptop.
