I tried searching in the forums and didnt find any information.. I am wondering if 1080p gaming is possible with this laptop..i would like to connect it to my 60" dlp and set it up as a semi htpc. Of course do some gaming.. I am playing wow and playing bioshock.. how would these games hold up at 1080p? I know wow should do just fine but bioshock seems to be a bit iffy..

Has anyone done this yet, what games have you played at 1080p with what settings and drivers ?

The video card handles 1920x1200 screens just fine so it shouldnt have a problem with a 1080 screen (which is actually less pixels than 1920x1200)

You might not get as high of settings in everything in higher end games, but most of them should be fine. I've never played bioshock so i dont know the actual output you can get with it.

I have bioshock haven't bothered trying it at 1920x cause I know it will lose considerable performance; but I'll try it for you as soon as I get home from work.

Via HDMI cable to my external monitor.

    I'm running 169.12 for Windows Vista 64bit

I run 1080i sometimes out to my 32inch LCD, and it looks awesome. 1080i only renders half the res and flashes it so you get great performance and it looks great. it flashes at menus and things that are staying still though because it is interlaced, that is the only downside though.

1080p should be fine for this laptop

Flashes? I wonder if i can give my girlfriend epilipsy..j/k anyways, im anxious and i might just pull the hdmi out of my ps3 to test it..its on the same rack so it shouldnt be much trouble..

I would imagine itll drop down to 20fps (guessing)

I dont remember which drivers i install 2 weeks ago but i think its 174 or 175..from laptop2go.. any other games that might do good on 1080p ?

I hook up my laptop with a 24" HDCP LCD Monitor. I use HDMI to DVI cable and game on 1920x1200 without any problems. So far I've played COD4, TF2 and C&C3. There is a definite performance hit compared to 1400x900, but the higher resolution makes it worth tuning down a couple of options to medium settings.

I tried last night bioshock..the hit is noticeable like voodoo says..but with alittle tweaking it can be very much playable.. the res looks amazing tho. the tv was detected immediately..i closed the laptop screen and moved on. Im not comfortable with the whole keyboard on my lap thing tho.. eww. anyways it was fun to see it play on the big screen.

Has anyone tried playing gow at 1080p yet? (i cant even get it to run) get a damn error on load lol..anyways i played on x360 so its no biggy.
