So after much penny pinching and lurking on these forums, I got the T9300 for my notebook. Woot.

Everything is great, except for CoD4. After a while of playing, the sound stutters. The framerate doesn't drop. Note that the stuttering only occurs when I'm pressing the keyboard.

All other games seem to work fine so far. The computer is difinitely snappier. Overheating doesn't seem to be an issue, although I'm not sure about TZS1.

    Core 0 goes from 30-50c
    Core 1 goes from 29-53c
    TZS0 goes from 44-62c
    TZS1 goes from 54-72c
    GPU goes from 51-79c

    Very strange.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Those temps are VERY normal.

You might want to undervolt your CPU - it should give a drop in temp.

Other than that, everything looks normal.

The sound card drivers are very bad drivers.I see the vista terminates the IDT sound driver lots of time. That should be due to the lac of 64 bit support so the driver are 32 bit. that should cause pretty much a lot of mess.

That should me driver related and try update the BIOS that should help.

Thanks for the excellent feedback. I tried killing the sound driver - to no avail. It has crashed on me a lot, too, but that wasn't it. I even tried loading the 64-bit driver for the newer p-notebooks, but it wouldn't load. I downloaded the latest bios that was available on the download site as well.

Okay, so after your feedback (thank you, btw) it occurs to me to try my G15 keyboard which lays sadly in my closet. I am playing CoD4, and when I press keys -sttuttteerrrr. Plug in keyboard-BING-healed! Unplug keyboard - still healed.

I can't figure it out. I'm going to do some more testing. If anyone can think of avenues for investigation, let me know.

P.S. Thanks again for your feedback. It was good to know that my temps are normal - was really worried about that one.

Wow, Thanks for the link! I don't have the version of the chipset drivers. That looks promising. I have the lastest video and audio, but that doesn't see to be where the trouble lies.

Did more testing and had the same problem. Plugged in G15 keyboard, and no problems. Oddly, after years of desktop gaming, I am now so used to the notebook keyboard that the G15 was difficult to play from. lol.

Again, thanks. I will post results.

Well, I loaded all the latest drivers, and no joy. It's strange that it only seems to happen in CoD4 and it goes away when I hook up my USB keyboard. Thanks for your ideas. If anyone comes up with anything else, please let me know. Now at least I have a good link to drivers. :)

Look if this will happened when you plug something else in the usb another keyboard would be good to try.

Go to bios and check USB compatibility mode.

Go and look for G15 drivers and update them. Try and remove as much as possible processes that you don't need.

try and post ASAP cause i have to leave today at 6 o'clock and i wont be at home till Monday.

I may not have stated it properly. It's the keyboard built into the laptop that has the problem. Plugging in the G15 USB keyboard makes the problem go away. For whatever reason, it has improved some. I'm not sure why.

The one thing that seems oddly to be true is that CoD4 really makes the GPU and CPU get warm, moreso than Assassin's Creed or Crysis, or at least it seems that way.

At any rate, it's strange that all of this started when I put the T9300 in (which I love, by the way).

Anyway, thanks for your reply and Happy Holiday.

Just re install CoD4. If that does'nt do it. They're are many more games released this year that are as fun as CoD4.

Lets all get out of our CoD4 shell people and play some other games.

I was once like you too. LOL .

LOL your point is well taken. I just like all the wallhacking and aimbotting. Where am I gonna get that level of hacking (from others, not me) in an online game besides Counter-Strike?

I guess you don't play online FPS games. Seriously, even with all of the online problems, though, I really do enjoy CoD4 and haven't found anything as fun by way of a online FPS. Suggestions are welcome.

P.S. I think your keyboard must be messed up, too. Caps lock seems to have gotten stuck there at the end.

Thanks for the info. At least I know it works for some/most people.
