cheaper doesn't mean better. that's been regarded as the best. i personally have the antec notebook cooler s. it retails for 35 bucks. i got it on sale for 12. my other notebook cooler is a 4 inch electric fan i bought for 6 bucks. between the two, 12 degrees drop on cpu, 18 degrees on gpu, and 2 degrees on hdd.

I am pretty sure a Cooler Master NotePal Infinite works with this laptop, it is big enough.

I use the xpad, it works great, gives it a 1/2 inch clearance to cool properly. Its cheap too and 17inchers will fit on it just fine.

    my turn to ask....

what is the best cooler for our brand of laptop..

    meaning:
this is for the people who actually own or know about these laptops.

cooler im looking for has to have the fans out wide. i would like one with a fan directly underneath the gpu and cpu if this is at all possible. it seems plausible if you can find a cool with the fans out wide instead of in. would like one with three fans...3rd fan for the hard drives.

any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

I'm using a Targus Podium CoolPad with my 6831fx
    It's passive cooling though.

I would suggest active cooling solutions.

ok, thanks! this would only be used for over clocking testing purposes.... and i have seen a few, but the ones i saw wern't really that good and they had low rpm's and cfm's looking for at least 2500 rpms and at least 30+ cfm's

there's a notebook cooler guide/comparison thread somewhere. i can't find it. you might wanna check it out if you can find it. there's another that's real good, but i think it's not sold in the US. if you don't use the notebook in your lap or on your bed, you could always buy a small 4-6 inch electric fan for less than 10 bucks. i have the antec notebook cooler s which helps cool my notebook by itself, but it's not great. the 4 inch electric fan i use next to my laptop keeps this thing cool.

yep. i paid 7 bucks for mine. drops my cpu temps 10+ degress, gpu temps ~18 degrees, and my hdd ~2 degrees. best cooler ever!

if i ever get motivated, i'm thinking about getting 2 of these fans and a 1/4 or 1/8 of a sheet of plywood and make my own sooper dooper cooler.

i was looking at it right now and....the fans seem to be located up top, but all the holes are located at the bottom. i wonder how much more of a difference it would cool the laptop if you turned it around so that it was closer to being under the laptop fans them selves.....

well the holes are designed to evenly disperse the air. some of it will still get sucked up by your intake because of the dispersion and the rest of the air will just blow underneath and keep your base cool.

20 bucks is an ok price. i wouldn't pay higher for it. i got mine for 12 bucks. it's msrp is actually 35, not 48 dollars. it's much quieter than the pacific breeze. you can barely hear it on low, and on high it's not loud but you'll definitely hear blowing away. as for cooling performance, that's why i wouldn't pay over 20 bucks for it. it definitely helps, and it's much more portable than your standard cooler. i use mine in conjunction with a 4 inch electric fan.

too funny... wanting quiet fans on a potential gaming computer that is being used to play videos/music/games/and internet broadcast's. watching the game on the big screen tv talking about...can you turn down your laptop fans, i can't hear what the people are saying. kids are yelling and talking loud and we're more concerned with quiet fans. way too funny! *LOL* carry on, just thought i would try to make a few people laugh is all...but im thinking of getting one of these fans for over clocking purposes since i dont keep the computer in my lap. and the computer really doesn't get that hot....

*wonder's who games with the laptop on there lap* your good if you can do that competitively! i tip my hat to that person!.. :)
