Yup, for instance there are 489 of them in Ardmore, OK right now. Hopefully that means stores should be getting them by Thursday-Friday at the latest.

since your able check how many are in a warehouse .. Im guessing you would be able to check for other warehouses too? Im in buffalo, ny .. zip 14214.. Would you be able to check if there are any in the warehouse? Oh and thanks for letting us know!

Most likely at some point soon, yes. Our normal amount off on this price point is 100-150 instant savings. I would say within two weeks.

As for in the NY area, there are 574 in Buffalo's distribution center(I don't know where exactly it is, unfortunatly.)

 

Hmm...is this discount guaranteed to be coming? I haven't ordered mine yet, and I'm an hour away from the nearest Best Buy. The shipping on the site says it could be 1-2 weeks shipping. So I dunno if I should wait and see if there is gonna be a discount, because that would be 4 weeks.

there is no difference in the laptop itself, but you can pick it up right away in the stores otherwise you'll have to wait it to ship to you.

 

when I check the BB website for stores near me they say unavailable.. So thats the problem ..

 

They aren't in the stores yet, and these warehouses are not the ones for bb.com, they are DC's for store inventory replenishment. Stores CAN order them through a process known as ORCA for individual customers, for instance it says I would have a pick up date of Thursday right now, which is my next shipment reciept date from this warehouse.

You have to go to the store and prepay for one. Then it can be ordered over ORCA.

Hey, id10t, do you have any new info on when the 6860 will be in stores? Also, if I were to go into a local store and order one, do you know approximately how long it would take to get it? Sorry to bug you with this, but I have checked with a few stores in my area (Columbus, Ohio), and I have been given different answers by each associate. Thanks for your help.

 

It should be at most, two shipping cycles for them to get it if you prepay. As for arrival in store, they are on our current plan for displays, but none are enroute to the stores yet. Probably next week would be my guess.

 

So when is the earliest we can expect them at stores? Coming to the states at the end of April and would like to pick up one of these laptops while here.

I called my local BB and at first the guy was like theres no such thing.. After which I called the same store in the afternoon in hopes of talking to a different guy and he said earliest I could get it would be May 6th.. What do I make of this? Is he just talking BS..

 

I don't know why he said that, unless he didn't really check and pulled a number out of his you know what. I checked the ORCA system on Monday and it said it would arrive, if ordered then, Thursday which was our next scheduled shipment from that DC.

They have a different warehouse for .com orders. You have to go into stores for the ones I am talking about.

I doubt they will, but they can order it. No stores in at least the DFW area got them, even though there are over 480 in Ardmore, OK at our distribution facility.

Yeah, have him try an "O" ORCA. If he doesn't know what he means, have him get someone from Product Process to show him.

The actual discount is five percent over cost. On computers, not so much. For instance, I bought my P-6831FX for the sale price of 1199.99, same as everyone else who got it that week.

 

I got mine yesterday, I am an employee... no one has it in stock yet, it isn't even shipping to stores in my area yet. But you can check with your local best buy and see if they can order it through Customer Fulfillment. It takes about 2-3 days and ships ups. I had mine ship to the store since I work there but I think you can have it shipped to your house as well.

I was just at my local best buy and they said they had 4 en route. They were 95% sure they would arrive at the store in their Tuesday's shipment.

Also, they had the display 6831 on sale for $1149.

 

wow, you could probably talk them down on that display. we sold our 6831 display for around $950.

I called my local BB up and spoke to the guy.. He didnt have any instock but I told him to do the ORCA after which he said he'd be able to get me one for the 24th as a part of customer fulfilment.. Hope it actually comes..

can you explain this program? Would i be eligible since im canadian (cant down payment, etc). id like to order one ahead and pick it up if possible.

 

From what i heard, ORCA allows you to go to the store and pay for the laptop and they will order it and call you when they receive it so you can go pick it up.

 

Yeah, there's not much to it. It's just basically putting an order to the warehouse, signaling that the item should be placed on the next truck delivery and shipped to the store.

 

i'm thinking if you live near American- Canadian border, just drive to US if you have a passport and order it in some BB stores and have them e-mail you when they have it since i don't know how international phone call will work.

 

i dont live near the border, so ill just have to call or see if they are shipping to stock shelves via this thread. Thanks for the help though!

 

went to a local BB today and asked about the 6860, the guy looked it up and it showed that it'll be available for order on the 24th as well. According to him it usually means that's when the store will get them in stock as well.

This is in SE Michigan, btw.

 

well the guy didnt ask for anything other than my name and address.. And he said itd be ready on the 24th.. As for the canadians.. Im a canadian aswell.. (just studying in the states) just call up a US BB near you and have them ORCA it for you.. Simple as that.. The person should tell you the date itll come and you can go and pick it up!
