So everything has been going real well so far with my FX. I figured I would try to hook it up to the plasma tv and watch Superbad. After some fiddling I got the picture in WMP looking good, but wasn't getting any audio. Got into the IDT audio controls and selected HDMI as default. Still no go with movie audio, but i was able to test the speakers on the tv via a test button somewhere and got a positive. So then I downloaded the K-Lite codec pack, installed and here we go! Watched whole movie without a hitch.

So I've got the lappy on it's own again now so I set the IDT audio controls back to speakers as default. Not getting nothing!

Ok let's check and make sure the speakers aren't somehow broken. Boot up into Ubuntu and voila beats drums and all, Rhythmbox plays all songs, etc. Speakers aren't broke.

Back into Vista64 and I've got no help with reboots after changing around default playback devices, when speakers set to default I'm getting the little equalizer thingy doing it's stuff but still no audio.

So I guess my question is should it be easy enough to reinstall drivers?( Been having a hell of a time with my recovery disc have to eject and reinserted MULTIPLE times for it not to think it is a blank disc) and have everything back to normal.

Or is K-lite codec pack giving me the issues?? Not even sure I got 64 bit compatible ones for that matter. If so what codecs do u guys recommend.

Well %##%^ me, looks like your right so far boypogi. I finally got ubuntu to read my recovery disk, so I copied all the files to a usb stick and got Gateway recovery center working in Vista. Uninstalled IDT audio drivers, rebooted and reinstalled. Still no audio. Sort of makes me feel like an idiot to tell you the truth. Never had problems with XP with multiple computers. Could always figure it out(thanks to google). Stuck here. Just might take your advice.
