Just bought my gateway one month ago, and I just tried using my 32" Samsung flatscreen LCD as an external display.
I cant see much of the picture because of the resolution, my tv is 1366 x 768, and Ive just spent 2 hours trying to find out how to change the resolution of the gateway to exactly that.
Cant get it to work though, does anyone have an idea of how to solve this very annoying problem?
Any help would greatly appreciated.. !![]()

I would change your drivers because I have that resolution as an option under the Windows display settings. And when i use an HDMI cable to hook it up to my 32" LCD tv and choose the display desktop on both (clone or whatever its called) it automatically changes to 1366x768 (720p) so it has a small amount of black on the bottom and top of the laptop screen but perfectly fits the tv.

Thanks for the reply! How do I change the driver though?

There is a sticky on the gaming section with some instructions but here is the link http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=93.
It is kinda tricky since these are almost all desktop drivers modified for use on laptops so make sure to follow the instructions on the page where you download it. -
Im not that much of a expert, could you tell me which driver you installed in order for it to work? Do you remember at all?

Solved the problem! I let my tv be the primary screen, and that enabled me to use a 1920 x 1020 resolution... ABSOLUTELY gorgeous

Ah ok if I didn't know you were trying to output 1080p. If you bought one of the bestbuy models with the 1440x900 screen you can't output anything higher than that resolution while still having it on the laptop screen also (at least not that I know of). Either way glad to hear you got it working.

Yeah I had to disable the screen on laptop completely to get the resolution. Try it

Can you set a custom res. to yout TV with HDMI or you must use VGA connection

I did it using HDMI
