How do the two compare? I am thinking about getting the Sager instead.

Price is the biggest thing between these two computers. The gateway is only priced at 1299.96 while it would cost you roughly $200-300 more dollars to get the right configuration. Of course, the Sager would preform better, you get what you pay for. So basically, if you want to stay cheap, get the gateway, but if you don't mind shelling out the extra cash, get the Sager.

You can configure the Sager with quad out of the box-

For 78XX owners, we're still trying to figure out how to get GW to fess up with the quad/overclock BIOS -

The real question is what exactly do you want from the laptop. Are you trying to play games at the highest settings? The 7801u can play Mass Effect, Fallout 3 at the highest settings. There's no reason to buy a very powerful laptop unless you want to do the gaming on the go. You could have better performance by buying a portable laptop and build your own desktop for the same price as the Sager.

    What he said-

For me, I have not owned a desktop in millenia (too immobile, no room to put it) so the 7805u really is a desktop replacement(It will do the games I want, but not too sure if it will withstand the processing abuse I will wreak on it).

If you have no plans for a desktop, then the Sager may be better for you-

Just curious- one is 17" and other 15.4" and target 2 different markets.

    What is your interest?

Well it's too late for me now because I already got the 7801u, but I was thinking about the Sager because it looked like a good deal for the price, just like the 7801u. But now I realize that I 15 inches monitor is too small haha.
