Well, I finally decided to order my first SSD after months of reading reviews... i went with the Intel 80gb X25-M G2 even though its 2mb seq read isnt jaw dropping compared to others... its overall performance and price compared to Indilinx SLC drives convinced me to go with the Intel.

Native TRIM was a big selling point for me also.

Is there anything I need to do before installing Windows 7 on the drive when it comes in?

    Thanks for the help.

not that i know of , it installed on my ssd as smooth as butter, just mind to double check that disk defrag is disabled in the services.

ssd drives do not need defragged, and if you defrag them it shortens there life drasticly

What about 3rd party degragmenters? Are they worth it?

Diskeeper seems to have some neat SSD features

Nope dont defrag it... you'll only regret it.

Just make sure Defrag is disabled in Win7 and i tend to turn off system restore, but thats not required by any means.

Other than that just treat it as a great HD that is smoking fast and dont worry about it anymore.

there really good, and really fast, ull love it.

windows installs, boots and performs real fast, its a nice piece of kit

the intel one will be very very fast, for read, not so great for write speed but its an insanely fast read makes up for that i thinks

I got my SSD yesterday and installed Windows 7 on it, i'm very impressed with its speed. Games load much faster, especially Dragon Age, which loads all the time LOL.

I'll have more time to mess with it this weekend, but so far, it's just like the reviews say.
