I just bought the P-7805u today checkd the res on it and its 1920x1200 auo. the screen is bright and looks pretty good for the most part especially with Cod 4. but i downloaded some high def 1920x1200 backgrounds for it and the areas tha are a little lighter like light blues and whites look grainy. if i pull up control panel or any windows thing the whites look grainy and not smooth almost like a lower res screen. websites that have white like this one, same thing.. my question is why??? and i popd a reg dvd in and it look liked crap

hmm, haven't noticed any quality issues on mine.. of course i have the lg screen, although i doubt there's that much of a difference between the two.

Regarding dvd issues, what program are you using to play it with? It's going to look less than spectacular no matter what you use, as you're trying to upscale your dvd by a factor of ~6.5.

Have you tried tweaking your color settings in nVidia control panel?

Or, maybe it's you tirelessly defending your AUO who is experiencing the "the placebo effect"?? Hmmm.....

I just had an AUO-based 7811FX next to my LG-based 7805u and I still prefer the LG as it has better viewing angles and is sharper (IN MY OPINION using MY EYES).

I sold the 7811. My LG is a keeper! :)

Only problem I've noticed with my AUO is at EXTREME off angle viewing you can see the "white cloudyness" that I've heard mentioned, its not noticible at all when looking at the screen anywhere near a usable viewing angle, but if your way off to the side where the image isn't viewable anyways its there.
