I bought my refurb last Thursday with a host of file locations errors on the Vista that was installed. So I decided to Install Windows 7(Ultimate) build 7100/64bit on it and see how it works. Here is my system:

    Notebook: Gateway P-7805u fx
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400
Graphics Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS
    Display: 17.0 inch, 1400x900 pixels

On startup I have Avast! Pro, Skype and camera assistance running. At this point it takes 1min 25sec from a cold start to Firefox opening the homepage.

Everest shows me 44deg(CPU) and 47deg(GPU) celcius at idle.

I don't run much with it, but I do play alot of COD WAW. After playing a Zombie mod game with my brother to level 25 (unlimited ammo)and multiplayer for about 1hr 30min. My temps read 56 and 67 respectfully and FRAPS showed me running at 87fps on 1028x768. any higher resolution for me makes it too damn small.

I haven't had any issues so far. I'm going to install Nero and Convertx to DVD and convert a video to dvd. I'll update on that when I can. If anyone else has some experience with Windows 7, please chime in.
