I just thought i would bring this up and start a thread on the differences between the LG and AUO panels on this model with people that purchased them or if they have both, seen both and notices any thing different. This is for the 1900x1200 panel only!

I notice alot more people look like they received the LG more so than the AUO.Is it true the LG hgas brighter whites, better contrast and deeper blacks or is just an opion?

By the way,i did get an AUO 1900x1200 panel and was just curious from people they may own both and if they can see a difference.

I went to my local BB today and they had one on display with the 1920x1200 LG display. Mine has the AUO and I couldn't tell the difference so I asked if I could bring mine into the store to compare side by side since I had it in the car. I put my 7805u w/ AUO panel right next to the display model with LG panel. They looked identical and I could not tell any differences whatsoever.

One thing I will say, I think the 1440x900 panel looks better than either of the 1920x1200 panels. I picked up another 7805u today (Batch # I013826) and it has the WXGA 1440x900 panel. I've got it side by side with my AUO 1920x1200 laptop and the WXGA panel just looks sharper with clearer whites. The whites on the WUXGA panel just look better. It's hard to describe exactly, but it's only noticeable when they are side by side.

I also think the 1440x900 display is a better native resolution for regular computing like surfing the net or working on documents. The size of everything is just easier on the eyes. Just my $.02 so take it as you may.

I just received my laptop the other day and I am very impressed with the screen (mine has LG). There are no stuck pixels or any other discernible imperfections that I can see. I have heard other people post complaints about both LG and AUO LCD's and it sounds like the quality of both vary. The broad statement that all LG screens are better than AUO definitely cannot be said.
