So time's gone by, DDR3 laptop RAM is cheap & none of my searches brought about an answer. Will the P-7805u with a 64bit OS recognize 8Gb RAM and/or is a BIOS update needed to do so? I apologize if this has been settled but like I said, if so, I'm not finding it by searching. (here or elsewhere) As always, thanks in advance.![]()

Newegg.com - Shell Shocker Deal. Exclusive Jaw Dropping Savings on PC Components and Electronics.
The price is after a $20 mail-in rebate, but still great. When I originally googled the thread topic I didn't have much trouble finding 8Gb of similar for the same basic price though, elsewhere. (maybe without a rebate, didn't really pay attention @ the time)
If you want to punish yourself daily, go to NewEgg & sign up for their special savings emails or whatever. Each morning you'll get an email or two that point out some really good deals, sometimes requiring an exclusive coupon code they provide. One will usually be on a variety of stuff & good for 2-3 days & there will be a "Shellshocker" that covers 2-3 products and is good for a day or less, hours pending for each item. (like that PNY RAM deal is only valid today during a certain time frame & while supplies last) Your wallet & wife will hate you for signing up.

I advise making a NewEgg account, (if ya don't already have one), and signing up for the emails. This is the 2nd time they've done the 8Gb DDR3 laptop one so who knows, it may be repeated.

I get the same thing every morning too, I guess reading it on my iphone I did not notice
Could my P-7805U handle DDR3 1333 PC3 10600? The price is the same, and I can use it for other newer laptops too. It will down clock to 1066mhz right? -
Can't say for sure about the 10600 but I expect that'd be the case. If ya try, let us know! -
I have 1333 MHz Cas 9 memory. The system treats it as 1066 Memory and Cas 7.................
