Hey, I did a system restore and currently the monitor that is on the laptop shows as "Generic PnP Monitor". It works fine, but I'm running into issues when I connect a second monitor to the system through HDMI. For some reason it doesn't want to save the settings of the placement of the monitor (meaning the external monitor to the left of the screen instead of the default right), and leave my desktop icons alone. I was wondering if perhaps I could get the actual driver on the laptop working, then perhaps I wouldn't have this issue. Maybe it's just vista though, but I swear it was working before I started updating everything. Is there a known way to fix this?

Have you tried other driver versions and makers? Why I say that is because some makers change or delete options. Try different makers.
