    Hey guys,
A few months ago I made a thread about my computer crashing all the time and was trying to find a solution. It was over... here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/gat...p-7805u-black-screen-crash-during-gaming.html
After all that, the computer kept running and playing well for a while, with a crash here and there, but now its time to upgrade to a new mobo (or at least replace it), because it's just no longer playable, on both old and current generation games, unless I underclock my GPU to very sad places.
What I'm asking for is your help in picking one out. Dbz Hertz in my other thread recommended the P-7915u motherboard and that sounds good to me, but I don't feel like I know enough about this to find it off of the net. I'm a fast learner, but I'm pretty green about this and I don't want to waste any $.
I was also wondering, if there will be anything else I will have to purchase. What is failing in this computer is the GPU and nothing else that I am aware of. I don't really know what the motherboard will come with, and if it is missing anything then I would like to use old parts if possible for now.
I think that's about it. Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing your advice.

fwiw I just installed one of those boards from that exact seller 3 days ago. You will need TIM to apply to the GPU and CPU, since you'll have it all apart anyway and factory TIM is not as good as ICD7 or similar. I cleaned the heatsinks with rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs, then applied the new TIM. Other than that installation should be a breeze. The seller was very communicative when I had questions, and it shipped pretty fast to the East coast.

Was the replacement p7915u motherboard in a p7805u successful, as in any problems with the fit or installation? Any issues with the components or helpful notes? I have a p7805u and now I too am experiencing black screen issues. AAARGH!

The replacements work out just fine. The only issues are software afterwards as the sound drivers are different and Windowws may want to reactivate.

I just successfully put a 7915 motherboard in my P7801u. I had the same black screen issue, unplugged and re seated the lcd plug on the motherboard and that fixed it for me.
