I’m thinking about getting a better power brick/charger than what comes with the P-7805u since I’m using this machine mainly for gaming I want to have a good power supply been hearing some bad things that the laptop comes with.

Ok first question how many watts does it take to run the the P-7805u and whats the watts of the stock charger? I see a 120 on sticker but not sure it thats in regards to the wattage

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to buy and what will work with the P-7805u?

Ive seen this one seems like a good one Targus Home/Office 180W AC Power Notebook Adapter - APA05US is anyone using with there P-7805u?

    Thanks!!!

Hi, there are people here getting a great deal on a refurb 120. I belive I saw one thread saying 115w from the plug at high gaming load adn somewhere about 25w under idle.

To me 120 seems to leave little to no real over head for powering USB devices, upgrades, etc so I am probably going to stick with the Targus 180w I am using now. My brick doesn't stay on so they are shipping a new one. I have little confidence in the new brick as well.

I was going to try for a P9600 to stay at the 25w TPD but the 35w TPD T9800 is just so tempting................

It's a purchase that makes sure your laptop has a good current running to it from a proven piece of equipment rather than using something that'll just "do the job." A good brick can make things more stable where the stock one might balk.

I am using this one for my Fx Laptops, no annoying humming and doesnt get as hot as the factory 120watt gateway, plus it has more juice for all the oc i did to some of my laptops.
