It always goes into standby, hibernate, or even shuts down right. However sometimes it fails to reboot properly. It just goes black and nada and it is completely random. I have to force shutoff the machine and turn it back on. Any ideas on this one? The only thing I have noticed so far is that it appears to only occur if a program initiates the reboot vs Windows itself.
I am running Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) as indicated in my signature. RTM will be available to me on August 6th so I will be reinstalling then. Just want to try to figure it out before then if I can.
EDIT: I just noticed that Intel released Windows 7 RC1 drivers.

Dated July 17, 2009 -- Version 8.9.0.1023. Drivers themselves are dated 6/4/2009. They seemed to install OK. Guess I will see if this fixes it.

Did that fix it? I have that issue to on my 7811-FX

I don't know if it did or not. The issue was inconsistent and was never actually reproducible on any kind of regular basis. I havn't had the issue since I installed the Win 7 drivers from the Intel site but only time will tell. If you install them let us know if it resolves the issue for you.

I have the same problem, although I thought it was related to the SSDs since it happened with multiple SSDs that I tried. I didn't remember this happening when I had the HDD (Although only used the HDD for a very short time) so I assumed it was the SSDs.
Mine RARELY reboots correctly, it is very annoying but something like that is very hard to trace. I did notice lately that sometimes it will actually reboot correctly, but since it rarely does it I just shut down and then turn it back on. However most of the time if I restart, instead of seeing the BIOS POST I just get a backlit black screen that doesn't change. It stays like this until I power off and then power on.
