So, when I resume from sleep on the 7805u the CPU fan stays at a very high RPM and never changes speed or turns off. Right now my TZSO/1=32C and Core 0/1=22C and the fan is still blowing what seems to be 100%. Anyone else have this problem and is there a fix?

Yes, I like to use the sleep function and am not interested in opinions or debates regarding why I shouldn't use it. :D

Same issue with the 7811...dunno any fix. Seems like the some thermal sensor doesn't wake up or something.

Hmmm, I wonder, has anyone contacted Gateway about this?

Hmm, that's weird. My 7805 wakes up from sleep just fine with no fan issues whatsoever. As a matter of fact I rarely ever use shutdown, only sleep.

So your CPU fan does not run at a very high RPM after sleeping? What bios revision does your system have?

No, it runs like it normally does, mostly off or very low with the occasional speed up. I'll check the bios shortly and post back. I'm in the process of burning the recovery discs at the moment so I'm using my desktop right now.

No problem with fan waking up from sleep.

I just got done re-enabling hibernation. I don't like hibernation but I know it has its uses, just not for me. Resuming from hibernation the fan acts normal, only sleep has this problem.

So are you guys using "Hibernation" or "Sleep"?

    9c.11.00 original bios

I use both sleep and hibernation depending on how long I am away from the laptop.
