It's quite strange - Shutting down, hibernation and sleep modes are not a problem for this laptop (check sig for specs), however if I were to try and press "reboot", it will physically shut Windows 7 down, but instead of starting up (showing BIOS screen, diagnostics, etc.), it will give me a black screen and do absolutely nothing. I have to manually hold the power button to turn it off and turn it back on to get out of this.

However, on shut down, the entire machine's kill signal seems to function and the laptop will shut down without much of a problem.

I'm not really sure how to pinpoint the problem (whether or not it is hardware or software). How would I diagnose it further and what are possible solutions?

    Thanks.
